So, what is RSS and why do I need it?
RSS feeds are one if the cleverest of the new ways of communicating and sharing ideas on the internet. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication – in essence it’s a list of information, usually created from webpages with little or no formatting. You can then use a ‘Reader’ to bring the feed into your PC or Phone where is is displayed in a way that you can browse through it so you don’t even need to go to a website to see what is new on it! You can sign up to as many feeds as you like and they should always be free.
You can tell if a website has an RSS by looking for the global RSS symbol in the address bar like this:
To sign up you usually just need to select it.
Task Angels offers you two feeds although we recommend only one of them at present . The ‘Task Angels Feed’ will keep you informed Task Angels news, events, new services and special offers. The second is a “Comments Feed” – this will become active when we active our Task Angels community – a place where you can request new service, comment on ones that you have used and even ask an angel a question! This is all very exciting…but there is no point subscribing yet.
So if you are intrested,now look up into the address bar where you will see the rss icon and select it to sign up to the ‘Task Angels Feed’. Each time we add a new service or news item you could be one of the early birds seeing it first.
Don’t forget to get the feed delivered to you will need a feed reader installed to either view the feed on your computer desktop, phone, internet borwser homepage or email. Feed Readers are also free. Popular online ones are Google’s reader, My Yahoo for online or you can have feeds delivered to your email and media such as Thunderbird or iTunes.
